It is well established that good social relationships are important for happiness and health. Dr. Sara Algoe is a social psychologist and Director of The Love Consortium. She studies the positive social behaviors and emotions that characterize our best relationships. In this webinar, focusing on data collected from friends, strangers, and romantic couples, Dr. Algoe will share her research findings on the social functions of specific positive emotions, like gratitude or joy, and on specific everyday social behaviors that boost those relationships. She will also use this work on positive interpersonal processes to discuss research-supported ways to foster a sense of social connection, even in the midst of our current physical distancing.
